# How does HealthScreen compare to other screening options?
This is one of the most common questions we receive. The preventative health space has grown significantly, and it's worth understanding exactly what each provider offers before making a decision.
**HealthScreen vs. Other Preventative Health Clinics**
Many other preventative health clinics offer biomarker testing, DEXA scans, and telehealth consultations with graduate doctors — but stop short of in-depth diagnostic screening.
HealthScreen goes further. In addition to comprehensive biomarker testing, we use multi-modal, MRI-led screening to build a detailed picture of your health from the inside, detecting early-stage cancers, cerebrovascular disease, stroke risk, and heart attack risk.
**HealthScreen vs. MRI-Only Screening Clinics**
Some clinics specialise in whole-body MRI scanning. While this can be a useful tool, a standalone scan has significant limitations. It cannot assess cardiovascular risk through CT calcium scoring, evaluate blood flow through carotid Doppler ultrasound, measure metabolic or hormonal function through biomarkers, or provide the clinical context that comes from a physician consultation.
At HealthScreen, MRI is one component of a multi-modal, physician-guided assessment, not the entire program. If a finding requires further investigation, you have a doctor in the room to explain it and guide next steps.
