How is HealthScreen different from a GP visit?
General Practitioners play an important role in the primary care system, and we encourage all clients to maintain an ongoing relationship with their GP. HealthScreen was created to complement that care by providing a more detailed and comprehensive view of your health through private, elective screening that sits outside the traditional healthcare system.
Consultation and assessment
A standard GP appointment is typically 10 to 15 minutes, which is well-suited for discussing immediate health concerns and managing ongoing care. HealthScreen offers something different: a longer, more structured assessment beginning with a 30-minute physician consultation covering your family history, medical history, and any concerns, followed by a coordinated series of diagnostic tests, all completed in a single visit.
What is tested
A GP check-up may include basic blood tests and a physical examination. HealthScreen offers a more comprehensive suite of diagnostics, including Targeted MRI scans, CT Calcium Scoring, Carotid Doppler Ultrasound, Thyroid Ultrasound, and testing of 100+ Biomarkers.
Proactive screening
HealthScreen is not a replacement for your GP, nor for government-funded screening programs such as BreastScreen, BowelScreen, the National Cervical Cancer Screening Program, or the National Lung Cancer Screening Program. It is designed to complement your existing care, giving you a deeper, more detailed picture of your health between those touchpoints.
If you simply want a deeper picture of your health, contact our team on 1300 03 1300 or visit healthscreen.com.au to explore which program is right for you.
