How is my data stored, protected, and who can access it?

How is my data stored and protected?

All personal and health information collected by HealthScreen is stored securely in Australia using encrypted, access-controlled systems. Data is protected using industry-standard encryption both in transit and at rest, and our systems are designed to prevent unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure.

HealthScreen operates in full compliance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Your health information is also protected under applicable state health records legislation.

Who can see my results?

Access to your results is restricted to authorised HealthScreen clinical and administrative staff directly involved in your care — including your assessing physician and relevant administrative staff who need to coordinate your appointment and follow-up. All staff are subject to strict confidentiality obligations.

Does HealthScreen sell or share my data with third parties?

HealthScreen does not sell your personal or health data. We do not share your information with third parties without your consent, except in the following limited circumstances:

  • Laboratory partners — your samples are sent to accredited laboratories to conduct the relevant testing. These partners operate under strict data handling agreements and applicable privacy laws.
  • Your treating physician or GP — only if you explicitly request this. You control whether your results are shared with your existing healthcare providers.
  • Legal obligations — in rare circumstances where disclosure is required by law, such as a court order or public health authority requirement.

In all other cases, your data remains private and is not disclosed to any external party — including employers, insurers, or government agencies.

Will my employer be able to see my results?

No. HealthScreen does not share results with employers under any circumstances, unless you explicitly request and authorise this in writing. Your assessment is entirely private to you.
