Is HealthScreen suitable for pre-employment health checks?
This is a question we receive occasionally, and it is worth answering clearly so you can find the right service for your needs.
HealthScreen is not a pre-employment medical provider. Our programs are physician-led preventative health assessments designed for individuals who want a comprehensive, proactive understanding of their long-term health — not occupational health clearances or fitness-for-duty evaluations required by employers.
What is the difference? Pre-employment health checks are typically structured around occupational requirements — assessing whether an individual meets the physical or psychological demands of a specific role. They are standardised, employer-directed, and focused on fitness for work.
HealthScreen assessments are clinically driven, individually tailored, and focused on detecting disease risk early — not on meeting workplace compliance requirements. They are chosen by the individual (or facilitated by an employer as a health benefit) for the purpose of proactive personal health management.
Can employers use HealthScreen as a health benefit for their team? Yes — and this is where HealthScreen is genuinely relevant in a corporate context. A growing number of organisations — particularly at the executive and senior leadership level — are providing HealthScreen assessments as part of their employee benefits or executive health programs. In this context, HealthScreen is not a pre-employment check but rather a premium health investment made available to valued team members.
If your organisation is interested in discussing a corporate or group arrangement, please see our article on corporate and group packages, or contact our team directly on 1300 03 1300 or at admin@healthscreen.com.au.
For pre-employment medical clearances, we recommend contacting an occupational health provider or your local GP practice.
