What happens during the consult?
The Preventative Health Consult is not a brief intake call. It is a structured clinical session with an experienced HealthScreen physician — conducted with the same depth and medical rigour as the initial consultation component of a full diagnostic program.
What your physician will cover
Medical and family history review Your doctor will take a detailed look at your personal health history — current and past diagnoses, previous investigations, surgeries, and ongoing health conditions — as well as your family history of significant conditions including cardiovascular disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, and other hereditary conditions. Family history is one of the most clinically significant risk factors and forms a core part of this review.
Current health concerns and symptoms If you have specific symptoms, changes in your health, or areas of concern you would like to address, your physician will give these proper attention. This is an opportunity to raise things that may not have been fully explored in a standard GP appointment.
Lifestyle and risk factor assessment Your doctor will review relevant lifestyle factors — including physical activity, diet, sleep, stress, alcohol consumption, and smoking status — and assess how these contribute to your individual risk profile.
Personalised clinical guidance Regardless of whether you proceed with a HealthScreen program, your physician will provide you with:
- An assessment of your current health risks based on your history and profile
- Guidance on what investigations, screenings, or lifestyle adjustments may be worth considering
- Clarity on which risk factors are most important to monitor over time
- A recommendation on whether a HealthScreen Exam, Platinum Exam, or other pathway is appropriate for you
What if a HealthScreen program is recommended? If your physician determines that a HealthScreen diagnostic program is clinically appropriate for you, they will explain which program aligns best with your risk profile and health goals. The $279 consultation fee is fully credited if you choose to proceed.
How long does the consult take? The Preventative Health Consult is typically 20 to 30 minutes. This allows enough time for a thorough clinical review without being rushed.
