What happens if something is found during my assessment?

Incidental findings, while rare, are a recognised possibility with proactive screening. Where HealthScreen differs from many other providers is in our medically led approach to managing any results.

Findings identified through imaging, biomarker testing, or other screening modalities are interpreted by our expert physicians, who take into account your full clinical context and trends over time — distinguishing between what requires further monitoring or follow-up, and what may need no further action at all.

What if something requires further investigation?
Where a clinically significant finding is identified, your HealthScreen physician and our extended medical team will work with you to determine the most appropriate next steps. This may include a priority review appointment, additional investigations or imaging, specialist referrals, or referral to your local health network where clinically appropriate.

Your physician will explain everything clearly
If a finding is identified during your assessment, you will receive a clear explanation of:

  • What the finding is
  • What it means in the context of your overall health and risk profile
  • Whether it requires further investigation, monitoring, or no action at all
  • What the recommended next steps are

No findings, significant or otherwise — will be left in a report without clinical context or explanation.

Urgent findings
In the rare event that a finding requires urgent clinical attention, our team will contact you promptly to discuss the most appropriate next steps.

Will my GP be informed?
We strongly encourage all patients to maintain an ongoing relationship with a general practitioner. To support continuity of care, we can send a copy of your report and findings directly to your GP or any treating specialists, just let our team know and we'll arrange it.

If you have concerns about a finding or would like to discuss your results at any point, our team is available on 1300 03 1300 or at admin@healthscreen.com.au.
